Welcome to the registration page for the NPSO 2026 Annual Meeting, hosted by the Williamette Valley chapter, May 29th - 31st 2026!
The Annual Meeting will take place at the Willamette Heritage Center in Salem and will
include field trips from the Cascade foothills throughout the mid-Willamette Valley to the
Central Oregon Coast.

Please have your debit or credit card ready to pay by card at the end of the process. Sorry,
we are not accepting cash or check payment at this time.

Schedule Overview:
- Friday, May 29: Participants will be able to choose from six self-guided field trip
options and attend a mixer from 3:30-6:30 pm followed by a no-host dinner on the
Mezzanine at Ritter’s Housemade Foods from 6:30-8:30 pm in downtown Salem.
(Seating is limited to 30 people; RSVP on the registration form.) Attendees should
bring a sack lunch and water for their selected self-guided field trip.
- Saturday, May 30: There will be 12 half- and full-day guided field trip options
throughout the mid-Willamette Valley, Cascade foothills, and Oregon Coast, as well
as two workshops and several nature talks at the Willamette Heritage Center (see
highlights, below). And evening program will feature a keynote presentation by Greg
Archuleta, cultural educator, artist, and member of the Confederated Tribes of
Grand Ronde. Lunch and dinner are included.
- Sunday, May 31: The six self-guided field trip options will repeat on Sunday and
John Savage, Willamette Valley Chapter president will lead a guided native plant
walk at Deepwood Museum & Gardens and Bush’ Pasture Park from 8:00-9:30 am.
Meeting attendees are welcome to round out the Annual Meeting activities at a no-
host networking brunch at Lively Station from 10:00 am - Noon. (Seating is limited
to 24 people; RSVP in the registration form.) The NPSO state Board of Directors will
meet at in Story Hall at IKE Box Café in Salem on Sunday from 10:00 am to 2:00
pm.
Selected Meeting Highlights:
- A keynote presentation with Greg Archuleta, cultural educator and member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, on Indigenous uses of Willamette Valley native plants.
- A two-part guided wildflower hike along the North Fork of Silver Creek at Silver Falls
State Park and at a vernally wet meadow adjacent to the park with Oregon State
Parks Interpretive Ranger Matt Palmquist.
- A plant morphology workshop at the Ankeny Hill Nature Center with Steven Yeager,
NPSO State President and Executive Vice President of Mountain Rose Herbs.
- A nature talk with Rose Grimson, environmental science major at Willamette
University, and Jeremy Ojua, Grand Ronde plant nursery supervisor, about their
work to measure and map soil health and native plant populations at natural areas
stewarded by the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde.
- A tour of Willamette University at Zena, a 305-acre natural area owned by the
university that supports academic research and environmental education and
serves as a “living laboratory” for sustainability practices, with Director Weston
Miller.
Once you have registered and paid, you will receive confirmation of your registration via
email. You’ll also receive a separate email confirming your field trip after you have
completed and submitted a field trip ranking form.
Please note: all registrants are required to complete and sign a photo release and liability
waiver prior to participating in the Annual Meeting. Additional information and instructions
will be sent to you after the registration process is complete.
